Instructions

  1. Gather and measure ground beef, soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, minced fresh ginger, chopped green onions, any chosen vegetables, and rice.
  2. Cook rice according to package instructions or in a rice cooker until fluffy.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Add the ground beef to the hot skillet and brown, breaking it apart with a spatula until cooked through; drain excess fat if needed.
  5. Stir in the minced garlic and ginger, then pour in the soy sauce and sesame oil and cook, stirring, for 1–2 minutes to blend flavors.
  6. Add the chopped vegetables to the skillet, stir into the meat, and cook until tender but still slightly crisp (toss in fresh spinach at the end to wilt, if using).
  7. Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste, adjusting soy sauce as needed.
  8. Divide the cooked rice among bowls and spoon the beef and vegetable mixture over the rice.
